Kahrout meadow....The unexplored Destination
It is rightly said that Kashmir is the paradise on earth well absolutely it is,no doubt about that.Kashmir Valley stationed in between great Himalayan range and Pur Panjal range has been blessed with immense beauty. Everyone desires to visit Kashmir due to its unspoiled natural beauty. There are many destinations which are worth to visit and these include our summer capital Srinagar, Gulmarg, sonmarg, Pahalgam Yousmarg,Doodpathri and there are a number of destinations also which are yet to be explored and one of them being Kahrout lying in district Pulwama.
(About 33 kms from District headquarter and 60 kms from Srinagar). It lies at an altitude of approx 2800m ASL. As you can have the glimpses of this heavenly meadow from the video, this place is insanely beautiful and worth to visit. This place also acts as a base camp for trekkers who want to explore the mighty Pir Panjal range and other neighboring meadows like Bargah, Panzr e khal, Daan Zab, Shidak, Sunset peak, and TattaKooti Peak as well. In summers this meadow is inhabited by local Gujjar Community mainly from Sangerwani.
Accessibility:
One can visit Kahrout by reaching Sangerwani bus point through local or private transport. From where trek of about 6kms begins via Kend Pathri and Anderwaali (PS: You can reach upto Anderwaali on two wheeler also provided the weather conditions are favourable)
